CEHRIN

The Center for Civic Initiatives is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that combines analytics, advocacy, education, and European integration to shape a new architecture for local liberal democracy.

Mission: We are creating and shaping Ukraine's democratic future by strengthening communities and citizens.

The organization was founded in February 2010 by a group of enthusiasts, who were members of a student fraternity at Lviv Forestry University.

We provide comprehensive support to all target groups for the development of capable, sustainable, open, and safe communities.

Our educational activities are a key tool for improving the competence and capacity of our stakeholders.

True Participation

We create conditions in which citizens have a real influence on decisions and the development of their community.

European integration

We support European integration at the local level as the basis for European standards of living.

Honest Management

We support communities in implementing modern and evidence-based approaches to governance and transparency.

Social Cohesion

We promote the creation of an inclusive environment and the dignified integration of veterans and internally displaced persons.

Together, we are creating an effective system that strengthens trust between the government and society, promotes democratic transformation, and accelerates Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Since 2010:

  • 11 studies conducted
  • 23 regulatory acts developed
  • Training conducted for civil protection representatives in frontline regions
  • Capacity of 40 communities strengthened
  • Over 10 printed publications issued
  • A coalition of virtuous communities has been created
